Theresa M. Collier, D.O. – A Short Biography
Dr. Collier is dedicated to improving the health the health of every patient and the wellness of every client. She is dual-boarded in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine which qualifies her as an excellent choice for Primary Care.
Dr. Collier has practiced medicine in South Florida for over 10 years and is licensed in the state of Florida as well as other states. She provides her patients with Endocrine Care, In-Hospital (Hospitalist) Care and Primary Care.
A “Proud Florida Gator” and Native Floridian, Theresa obtained her first Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. Theresa graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude. She obtained her second Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. As a Clinical Dietician with post-graduate studies in Education and Nutrition, she went on to teach interns and residents about proper nutrition for patients. With this experience, along with the encouragement of former professors, friends and family, she applied to medical school.
Theresa received the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine From Nova Southeastern University in 2008. Dr. Collier completed her Internship and Residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida from 2008 to 2011 and completed a Fellowship program in Endocrinology at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Florida in 2015.

Dr. Collier chose Osteopathic Medicine because osteopathic physicians consider treating the “whole person” and not just the disease, a concept she integrated into her role as a teaching clinical nutritionist. Dr. Collier believes that taking a holistic approach in medical treatment and wellness allows her to combine the best medical techniques with proper nutrition and physical activity to promote health and wellness for a better quality of life.
